I was thrilled to create a mural for the Southeast DC community titled "Hands in Bloom." This mural was designed for the National Children’s Center (NCC) Baby Bloomers Urban Farm, a project made possible by the generous support of an $8,000 gift from the Darryl Chappell Foundation in partnership with the 11th Street Bridge Park.

My vision for this art installation was to incorporate diverse hands that weave a narrative about the people they represent – their age, cultural heritage, personal style, and more. These hands come together to spell out “Baby Bloomers” in American Sign Language (ASL), symbolizing the inclusive mission of NCC. Additionally, the 12 mini murals feature hands from the NCC and Baby Bloomers Farm staff and children, illustrating intergenerational relationships and the tangible support adults provide to children in the garden with their helping hands.
